Independent Review - Vic Government DepartmentA Victorian Government Department PMO had an existing Project Review and Health check system, but wanted it reviewed for alignment to best practice. Core Consulting Group was engaged to assess the alignment to best practice and identify those areas of the health check system requiring changes. Core Consulting Group conducted a thorough and systematic assessment of the review process and identified those areas requiring further consideration. In addition we developed a health check indicator for both project health and alignment to project management processes. We also conducted a review to trial the revised system. This engagement resulted in the Department PMO being better armed to assess the health of their projects and enabled differentiation of project health and methodology compliance health. Planning & Controls Review - International SAAS VendorOur client believed their organisation was applying insufficient planning to projects and that few controls were actively being used. These was resulting in lots of "suprises" in project delivery and a decrease in client satisfaction. Core Consulting Group was engaged to review the planning, controlling and reporting practices of the organisation and provide recommendations on required changes. Core Consulting Group conducted an accelerated review and identified key areas for concern in planning, estimating, controls and reporting. Out of this review a set of pragmatic recommendations were presented along with an implementation roadmap. Following the implementation of high priority changes, significant improvement was apparent and the client has commenced second tier recommendations in an effort to reap even greater benefits. Independent PIR - TelstraDuring the rollout of a major Program of work Telstra engaged Core Consulting Group to conduct and independent Post Implementation Review of the first project to reach practical completion. The aim of this exercise was to identify those learnings that could be beneficial to the remaining projects in the program. Core Consulting Group completed an extensive review and presented a series of findings that were used to affect more successful outcomes on remaining projects within the program. The learnings from this exercise have since been used on other program of a similar nature. |
