PMO Uplift - Energy Retailer

Core Consulting Group was engaged by a Tasmanian based Energy Retailer to recover a Project Management Office that was perceived as offering little value to the organization.

Through a careful evaluation of existing business process and organisational needs, Core Consulting Group delivered an agreed program of changes prioritised based on impact and value. All changes were implemented within an overall change management framework. The changes included:
  • Establishment of revised reporting standards (project and portfolio)
  • Introduction of divisional resource management processes and toolset
  • Program of Work (POW) control Governance and prioritisation process
  • Revised governance structure for projects and portfolios
  • Documentation or project delivery methodology
  • PMO Training – provided to uplift skills and expectations of PMO Staff

Methodology Review & Refresh - Gaming / Wagering

One of Australia’s largest entertainment providers recently initiated a review and refresh of their  technology delivery methodology. The refresh was intended to address a number of audit items and ensure greater consistency in project delivery across IT divisions.

Core Consulting Group was engaged to ensure the methodology continued to remain an intricate part of IT Project delivery. Core Consulting Group reviewed and updated methodology documentation along with templates and guides.  A standardised approach to estimating was introduced and supported by training and development of an estimating guide. The introduction of a new governance approach was also implemented to align with the company's IT Governance Charter.

Our client was able to benefit from the diverse experience and knowledge provided by the Core Consulting Group to successfully implement a standardised estimating and methodology tailoring approach. All audit items were successfully signed off and greater consistency is now being reported across project estimating and delivery.

Portfolio Management - International SAAS Vendor

A medium sized International SAAS Vendor wanted to introduce Portfolio Management practices to support improvements in organisational resource demand and supply planning, project prioritisation, project and portfolio reporting and visibility and governance.
Through a thorough understanding of the company's requirements and best practice, Core Consulting Group introduced a number of processes, responsibilities and simple tools to enable effective and cost efficient control of their Portfolio of Work. The increase in visibility has been well received by management.
